Note: More details about this will be in the description block below the story.  But in a nutshell, this story was written as a submission to an art/writing contest held by the dA member Lanceafew, involving two of his OCs, both of whom are featured in this story.  Though there's nothing really "sexual" represented here, as a disclaimer, there are elements of tickling and light bondage present, which can be considered fetish material.  If you can't stand anything cute 'n quirky like that, then go read another story somewhere else. xD  Otherwise, enjoy!

"Treasure Hunt"
by Dalekfiree

A gentle click sounded as a rounded brass doorknob turned, clearing a heavy door to swing outward, a thick cloud of hot mist bellowing from the room within and then quickly dissipating into the much cooler air of the common room.  Ace stepped from the bathroom and stretched comfortably, his body slightly moist, though much of the water from his recent bath were already collected in the thick bath towel that he had slung over a bare shoulder.  His toes curled a bit as he felt stray grains of sand rubbing underneath his feet, though the sand that accompanied him into the bathroom earlier had been thoroughly washed away.  Perhaps he should've wiped his feet before entering the beach bungalow earlier, he thought in retrospect, as it would take a bit of work getting the stray sand off the wooden floor of the house at the end of the vacation.

Despite the slight nuisance of the sand, the puppy-boy couldn't help but smile as his fluffy yellow tail wagged, as it jutted out behind him through a special hole in the swim trunks he wore, the only thing he had on at the moment.  The air, even inside the bungalow, carried the pleasant scent and refreshing coolness of the sea, an almost lulling effect as only the comfort of vacation could bring to a normally hard-working citizen.  "That's right, this is a vacation," Ace mused out loud.  "I shouldn't let some sand distract me.  That's just silly."

He padded over to the open entryway of the beach house, sighing contently as he looked outward to the bright blue world.  It was a beautiful day out, not a cloud in the sky as the summer Caribbean sun cast its rays brilliantly on the pristine beachfront, reflecting smartly off the fine white sand and sparkling like beautiful living constellations against the gentle waves of the bay.  At a quick glance, there wasn't anyone else in sight; his rented bungalow was located on a very isolated part of a rather small island, populated only by other vacationers in their own little huts, one to each bay.  However, as his eyes scanned the shoreline, he couldn't find his cat-girl girlfriend, Mogin.

The two had swum together in the ocean earlier in the day.  As it was only just after lunchtime, there was still much of the day to enjoy, and as always, Ace wanted to enjoy it with his feline love.  He shrugged and turned back into the house, figuring that she was either napping after the long swim, or cooking them lunch.  As it wasn't likely that he'd be taking a dip in the ocean again, Ace decided to don his normal wear for the rest of the evening.  Left hanging in the bedroom closet was Ace's prized possession - a thick black trench coat, long enough to cover much of his legs, and sporting many pockets that the puppy-boy used to hide the many things he usually kept on his person.  Failing to locate Mogin anywhere on the beach, Ace shrugged and turned back into the small house; perhaps Mogin's in the bedroom, too, he thought to himself dismissively.

Though as Ace made his way to the small bedroom, he immediately sensed that something was amiss.  The subconscious probe was a peculiar attribute, though being part dog - and a material one at that - Ace could often "feel" when things weren't where they should be.  Scratching his head, Ace padded over to the bedroom closet...and froze, shocked to find the closet door wide open, and his favorite black trench coat missing from the hanger!

Growling out in alarm, Ace rushed over and frantically searched inside the closet, finding no trace of the heavy coat.  His boots were still there, along with his and Mogin's other clothing and suitcases that they brought with them on their trip - in fact, the rest of the bedroom didn't seem tampered with at all.  But even with keen eye and sharp nose, he couldn't find his coat anywhere near the spot he knew he left it at yesterday.

What could've happened to it!  Could someone have snuck in here and taken it?  Puzzled and dismayed, Ace wandered to and sat on the edge of the large bed that dominated most of the bedroom.  He braced himself with his palms, panic quickly setting in, when he heard a crinkly sound as one of his hands pressed against a sheet of paper.  Taking hold of it, he analyzed what seemed to be a note addressed to him.  It read:

Ahoy there, sea dog!  By now, ye might be wonderin' about the whereabouts o' yer captain's coat.  You are hereby inform'd that ye coat has been looted and plundered - by me, a fearsome pirate!  If you ever want t' see yer beloved coat again, then y' best follow the clues I left behind, t' where I buried it as treasure!  The first clue is written on the back of this note.  Best hurry, b'fore I take the treasure with me on my pirate ship!  Yar har!  *giggle*

Yer silly and fearsome pirate,
Captain Mogin

Ace blinked as he read through the note again.  The curly handwriting was definitely Mogin's, right down to the curly, loopy way she wrote her signature.  She even drew little doodles around the text, penciled symbols that were common to the generic pirate stereotype, if not a bit cartoon-y in their appearance.  Only Mogin would include silly marks like that on her notes, as he often encountered them on her little Post-It notes and scrap paper magnetted to their refrigerator back at home.

The puppy-boy made a face, feeling slightly annoyed at the obvious theft of one of his most valued belongings, though he was surprised to find his tail wagging as he read through the instructions a third time.  Despite himself, an amused smile spread across his face.  Treasure hunt, huh?  Seeing no other alternative, he decided to go along with his girlfriend's silly game.  Just like Mogin to do this, he thought to himself.  But just wait 'til I get my hands on that troublemaker of mine...

Standing up, Ace scratched at the back of an ear as he flipped the note around to read the first clue Mogin left him.

Sailing the Seven Seas can be so tiresome!  I think I'll go take a nap on something cushy, maybe after watching some swashbuckling adventure on TV.

Ace rolled his eyes.  For a first clue, Mogin chose the most obvious.  He knew that she was notorious for stretching out on the sofa back at home, as any comfort-loving cat would.  And the only television set in the bungalow was in the common room in front of the couch.  Half-expecting another note to be there, Ace strode out to the common room and was surprised when he found the couch there bare of anything out of the ordinary.  He checked the coffee table and underneath it, the shelf with the television, the end tables, and even a potted plant nearby.  Nothing.  Puzzled, he sat down on the sofa, chewing on his tongue.

But as soon as he sat, his sharp dog ears detected the crinkling of another piece of paper.  He scooted over and lifted the sofa cushion, finding the second note underneath.  A smile played on his lips.  Clever, that Mogin would hide the note out of initial sight.  He silently chastised himself for being fooled so easily as he read the second clue.

That was a great catnap!  But now I'm getting hungry.  Maybe I'll go plunder the fridge and eat all your food!  Om nom nom!

The puppy-boy abruptly bounced off the couch and dashed toward the kitchen.  Though the note merely hinted at the location of the next clue, he couldn't help but feel alarmed by the thought of his favorite treats being eaten!  As though reading his frantic thoughts, his stomach gurgled out in protest at such a dastardly deed.

Ace emitted a gentle yip as he jogged into the kitchen; unlike the warm wooden floors of the other rooms, the kitchen's floor was made of granite tile, and significantly colder due to the wall's stronger insulation against the warmer temperature outside.  With only a passing thought to the fact that he was still clothed only in his black swim trunks, Ace padded to the fridge and braced himself against the chill air that hit him as he opened the door.

A quick scan of the contents assured him that Mogin had not, in fact, eaten his treats.  Instead, everything seemed to be where they should, from the packet of sliced American cheeses to the carton of eggs and container of milk - though he noted with amusement that a significant amount of the milk was already gone, probably due in large part to Mogin's feline preference to the tasty drink.  His nose immediately went to work, sniffing out the yummy smells that wafted out to greet him.

Though failing to find the note outright, Ace found something in there he hadn't noticed before - a plate containing a large ham, lettuce and cheese sandwich.  He chuckled, a warm tug at his heart; though Mogin forced him to play this silly scavenger hunt game, she still had the sweet spirit and care of mind to fix him some lunch as well.  If she had been there at that moment, Ace felt he would've huggled her on the spot.

He took the plate and set it on the counter, hungry enough to pause in the quest for his plundered coat.  But when lifting the sandwich, he was surprised when the third note fell from the loose under-grip of his fingers.  Mogin had apparently taking great care at hiding it underneath his lunch.  He took a bite out of the sandwich, using his free hand to shake some of the crumbs off the note as he read the contents.

I hope you're enjoying your ship's gruel, scurvy-dog!  Can't go on a treasure hunt on an empty stomach, can you? *giggle*  Anyway, I took your treasure to the beach, because...well, where else do you think treasure should be?  Hey, I might be burying it right now!  Better go find it, before the high tide comes and sweeps it away!

Ace groaned.  A wet coat meant a stinky coat, and the leather material wouldn't fare well doused in seawater.  Still, he felt no real rush, as he was confident his sweet Mogin wouldn't do anything to jeopardize his favorite trench coat.  With the half-eaten sandwich in hand, Ace made his way out of the bungalow's entryway to the small shaded verandah, where he paused to take in his surroundings.  The sun still hovered high in the sky; he estimated the position to be around two-o'clock, still a lot of time to find his coat - and then tickle-torture his wayward girlfriend to a quivering pile of giggly goo.

"So much for that clean shower," Ace murmured to himself, as he set out across the warm sand, his bare feet crunching gently on the surprisingly fine, almost silvery sand of the well-kept beach face.  He walked right up to the edge of the shoreline, gasping out as the cold ocean water splashed about his feet, while he scanned for signs of the next clue.  The waves were fairly regular, gently meandering along the bay, as a line of sand bars in the distance broke up the outer turbulence and reduced the surf to something one might find in a picture on a pleasant postcard.  He noticed with awe as the sand seemed to sparkle, as if speckled with silver dust.  So ground-down were the grains that it felt almost as if he walked on soft, pillow-like clouds, bits of the quartz material reflecting brightly in the daylight, as if thousands of stars were shimmering in an underfoot galaxy.

Though he felt like he could stand there forever, more pressing matters were at hand.  Chomping on the last of the sandwich, Ace made his way to a beach-side cabana, figuring that would be the most probable place to leave a coat.  However, all he found underneath the thatched roof was yet another paper note, left on the woven, multi-colored patterned mat on the floor.  He noticed the rather fresh set of another person's footprints leading too and from the cabana - most probably Mogin's - but decided to read the note anyway.

Yo-ho, yo-ho!  You're almost at the end of your journey!  I'll say for certain that your captain's coat is hidden in a treasure chest, which sits by a pair of trees.  Might be that your sneaky pirate feels like climbing up like a monkey, to steal the coconuts, too!  But after all that climbing, what better way to kick back and relax in the gentle sway of the breeze?

The gentle sway of the breeze.  The hammock, perhaps?  Immediately, Ace's gaze wandered along the set of footprints, in the direction of a barrier spit on one end of the bay.  There, the beach jutted out into the ocean in a sort of land-connected sand bar, containing a pair of palm trees and a large rope hammock tied between them.  He and Mogin spent many days of their vacation relaxing there, cuddled against each other as they rocked too-and-fro.  It was arguably the best place to be and feel as if one were truly separated from the busy, noisy world around them.

Excited that he'd see his coat safe and sound again, Ace hurried his way up to the hammock, elated as he spotted an ornate-looking treasure chest resting up against one of the trees as it sat well away from the swash of the waves.  So isolated was this jut of land that even the sea oats and bay hops that populated the majority of the beach had stopped short of it, the bar bracketed on three sides by smooth, blue ocean.

However, upon reaching the chest, Ace was agitated to find that the wooden container had been locked shut, without a key in sight.  That Mogin!  He was just about to yell out her name, when he spotted one more note taped alongside the treasure chest.  He ripped it off and scanned quickly through the words.

Quick!  Turn around!  I'm here, and I hid the key!  Catch me if you can, ya landlubber~!

At that moment, Ace's ears perked up as he heard Mogin's distinct giggle behind him.  He spun around to find her leaning up against the far tree, her arms crossed and her foot tapping as she grinned mischievously at him, her green eyes alight with mirth and excitement, while her fluffy white tail swished eagerly behind her.

Ace gave a shout and lunged at the cat-girl, just as she turned and dashed away.  The chase was on - Mogin, clad scantly in her tight purple two-piece bikini, and Ace in his black swim trunks, a blur across a sea of blue and white as they ran from the barrier spit, across the beach and toward the bungalow.  Mogin displayed her cat-like grace as she bounded up onto the wooden railing of the verandah, her pale bare feet quickly pattering in a delicate mix of balance and speed, while Ace snatched at her from behind.  The cat-girl dismounted with the elegance of a gymnast, bounding down to the sand and again bolting for the beach, the puppy-boy quickly darting after her.  Mogin turned and backpedaled, taunting her boyfriend with a childish expression, as he quickly approached.

Ace growled playfully as he finally caught up and pounced, wrestling Mogin down to the sand, the cat-girl laughing out gleefully as she felt herself first pinned underneath him, and then lifted and hauled over his shoulder, her legs kicking wildly behind her.  He carried her all the way back to the palm trees and dumped her onto the rope hammock, Mogin poking her tongue out at him teasingly as he trapped her just where he wanted her.

Ace couldn't help but grin broadly at his catch, his tail wagging excitedly behind him.  "Well, well, if it isn't the fearsome pirate!  No wonder you stole my coat, with so little on you as it is!"  Mogin blushed at that, squirming under his weight as they slowly swayed in the hammock.  Ace held her wrists captive, pinning her securely - though even that much probably wasn't necessary, as Mogin's manner suggested being quite content with being caught, her struggling apparently for dramatic effect.

Embracing the theatrical role, Mogin continued with her pirate facade.  "Yar!  Y' may have caught me, but ye'll nev'r get me treasure!"  She blew a raspberry up at him and giggled more, clearly enjoying every second of captivity with her true love.

Ace laughed, shaking his head.  "Oh yeah?  We'll see about that, Captain Mogin."

The hammock had several extra lengths of rope hanging loose on each end of the weave, just in case someone wanted to tighten or loosen the slack between the palm trees.  Ace used that rope to bind Mogin's wrists together, then her feet, lashing them to each end of the hammock, loosely stretching her out while keeping her bundled in the center.  Mogin grinned up at him, her bare feet wriggling experimentally against the binding, while her wrists tugged up and down.  She tried using her fingers to search for the knot binding her wrists, but Ace had cleverly positioned it behind the cinch, well out of her reach.  Upon inspection, he knew that she wouldn't be able to free herself without his help.

Ace's grin grew more wolfish, an expression he very rarely used except during the most devious moments with his girlfriend.  Now free from holding her wrists, he raised both hands and wiggled them above her teasingly, causing his captive to squirm ever more, rocking the hammock as if caught in a gentle wind.  Slowly, he lowered his hands toward her sides as he threatened, "If you don't tell me where the treasure's key is, then I'll just...have...to...tickle you!"

With that, his hands descended on her bare and exposed sides, his fingers poking and prodding along her sensitive flesh at random.  Mogin immediately squealed out, giggling delightfully as she twisted and turned against the hammock.  "Eeee-hehehe!  I'll hehe I'll n-nehehever tehehell!  Heee!!"

Ace just smiled with playful enjoyment as his fingers wandered up and down her sides and ribcage, poking into the creases and crevasses he found between each rib, eliciting more squeals with each.  "Oh I don't know, sweetie," he teased.  "With a trench coat so valuable, I'd be more than happy to stay here and tickle you aaall afternoon.  So...better talk!"  With that, his fingers wandered up to rest just below her underarms, his thumbs drilling in firmly and relentlessly.

Mogin instantly threw her head back and gushed with laughter, her fingers forming fists as she desperately struggled to pull her arms down defensively.  "N-NYAAHAhahhaha!!  N-nahahaHAHAhaha't ahahaha theheHEHEhere!!"  The puppy-boy licked his lips at her reaction and continued to torment her there for several long minutes, shifting his weight to a more comfortable position as he accounted for the ever-swaying hammock.

"Not so tough without your ship, are ya?  And with such cute laughter, I'd have mistook you for a sea-angel, rather than a pirate!"  With his thumbs still working at her weak spots, Ace's other fingers joined in to eagerly scratch at the sensitive hollows of her armpits.

Mogin's blush deepened, more so because of his comment than the tickles.  A happy purr blended in with her joyful laughter, her emerald eyes set intently on his sapphire blues.  "Ahahaha y-yahahaharr~!"

Ace chuckled, her silly attempt at staying in character highly entertaining.  Despite that, he slowed his assault to a gradual stop as he let his captive rest for a bit, though his gaze then traveled down to rest on her trapped feet.  Mogin followed his gaze and lightly gulped, nervous giggles wresting from between her lips as she wiggled her toes playfully for him.  Ace licked his lips very dog-like, as he repositioned himself again for better access.  He took his time observing her feet, tilting his head as his eyes moved to follow every crest and curve, taking in the paleness of her soles, the slight pink of her heels and balls, the tenderness of her still-wiggling toes.  His breathing quickened, the focus of the world around him blurring a bit as his attention became centered on the pare of feet before him.  Even with the bits of sand still clinging to her feet, he began to feel captivated by them, just as he has on multiple occasions before.

Mogin giggled, rubbing her feet together.  "What's th' matter, sailor?" she asked.  "Amazed at how soft a pirate's feet can be?"

The puppy-boy blushed at that, as he playfully ran a finger along the tips of her toes, the gesture rewarding him with an instant toe-curl and a startled titter.  "Amazed, and very much in love with them, miss pirate.  And I always wondered how salty feet would taste like."

The remark got Mogin to squeak out and exclaim, "N-no, not that!" a nervous grin tugging at her lips.  She shivered as Ace used his finger pads to dust off the extra bits of sand, and then let out a cross between a high-pitched squeal and a pleasurable purr as his he lapped experimentally at her left arch.  She gulped as Ace's smile grew; clearly, the saltiness of the sea accented the natural flavor of her feet in a way that appealed to the puppy-boy.  She braced herself, just as Ace continued to lick at both of her arches in turn, his expression quickly becoming enraptured.

"EEE-HEEheheahahAHAHAaha!!  N-nahahat m-mahahah HEEE!!  Nohot m-my ahaha f-feeheeHEEheeheet!!"  The hammock began to swing much more earnestly as Ace went to town on his captured prize, Mogin's struggling even causing the palm trees to creak at the sudden tension in the ropes binding her.  An aura of joy formed around them both, seemingly drawing in the energy of the world, as the puppy-boy licked away at the pair of trapped feet in delicious jubilation, and the cat-girl squealed and laughed in ticklish bliss.

After a few seconds of Ace sucking and nibbling on her toes, Mogin called out in surrender.  "AhahAHAHahaha okahahay!!  OkaHAHAhay stohohop!  Ahahace??  AHAHACE?!?  C-c'mohohon stahAHAHahap ihihit!!"  Only after several rounds of pleading did Ace finally hear her through his euphoric trance to slow his feasting. "What...what is it...?" he asked, almost in a daze.

Mogin took several moments to catch her breath, her bare feet rubbing against each other in reaction to the constant tingles that still tickled her.  A healthy glow shone brightly on both of her cheeks, her eyes glittering.  She eventually found her voice as she again spoke, "I...hehehe...I...s-surrender...good sir!  P-parley!"

Ace barked out in victory, his fingers subconsciously playing with Mogin's toes, though in a comforting, almost massaging way.  Even during interrogation, he couldn't help but show his affection to the love of his life through a bit of aftercare.  "I knew you'd come around, pirate-girl!  So now.  The key, please."

Mogin poked her tongue out at him again, but complied nonetheless.  "The tree closest my feet.  There should be a small knot near the base.  They key is hidden in there."  She squirmed to one side as she tried to point with a big toe in the direction she indicated.

Climbing off of the hammock, Ace quickly searched and found the key, nestled neatly in an indention almost perfectly sized to house it.  He noticed Mogin watching him eagerly as he approached the treasure chest and inserted the key, his eyes alight with anticipation at finally seeing his prized coat.

But upon opening the chest, the puppy-boy was stunned by one last surprise.  There was his coat, all right, folded neatly along one side of the chest, as clean and unwrinkled as he last remembered it...but beside it was something else.  A framed canvas of medium size rested against the back end of the chest - and on it, painted with a vast array of bright colors, was a portrait of a cat-girl and a puppy-boy, sitting side-by-side on a rope hammock, his arm around her and she leaning into him, as they both watched a beautiful setting sun on the ocean's horizon.  Ace gaped; the painting was beautiful, thoughtfully drawn, the style of it exactly that of Mogin's favorite method of painting.

"I made that for you," Mogin explained, still tied length-wise along the hammock, "yesterday while you were snorkeling.  I just felt like drawing and, well...you came to mind.  We came to mind, and this beautiful vacation spot."  She gazed up at him, her eyes sparkling with true, pure love, as she conveyed her feelings to him.  "I didn't know how to show this to you, until I came up with this fun game, the treasure hunt.  Did you...did you enjoy it, Ace?"

Setting the painting back down, Ace sat back on the edge of the hammock and leaned forward, his reply coming in the form of a firmly planted kiss, square on Mogin's moist lips.  She immediately, instinctually returned the kiss, a symbiotic chemistry of romance flaring between them as they shared the tender moment.  Ace then climbed up on the hammock and snuggled against his still-bound girlfriend, Mogin pressing up against his bare chest and sighing contently as she nuzzled under his neck.  The two swayed gently between the trees.

"I enjoyed it," Ace murmured softly.  "I enjoyed your treasure hunt, darling.  And your painting is really beautiful."  He reached up to caress her cheek with one hand, Mogin closing her eyes and rubbing up against his hand while purring contently.

"I'm sorry I took your trench coat though," she apologized quietly.  "I hope you're not mad about that."

Ace smiled as he pressed closer to her.  "No way.  Besides, I found the treasure eventually, right?"

"The coat?" Mogin whispered.  "And the painting?"

"No," Ace replied.  "I found you.  You're my greatest treasure."

Mogin opened her eyes and beamed up at her boyfriend, pure happiness emanating from her face.  Ace could feel that his expression mirrored hers in every way.

"I love you," Mogin breathed, her tiny voice laced with passion and emotion, as she nuzzled into him once again.

Ace smiled contently, the gentle sway of the hammock lulling them as the crisp ocean wind caressed their bare skin, as if nature itself were wrapping them both in its comforting embrace.  The distant call of seagulls was a muddled sound, as the clearest thing he could hear was the gentle thumping of Mogin's heart.

"I love you, too."

Hey there, everyone. ^_^

Just a few things about this piece. First off, I wrote this in, like, two nights, and this after suffering from a writer's block of epic proportions. So sorry if my writing seems...choppy. Still, please feel free to comment on my style, if you find things that work better or worse than others, or if you hate it entirely. :XD: Be honest!

Second, what inspired me to write this for Lance were all the gorgeous fan art of his two characters, by all you talented artists out there who either got commissioned by him or simply wanted to draw Ace and Mogin. I felt like the pair represented something special, something fantastic, and wanted to contribute as well to the phenomenon of "Ace and Mogin fan art" that's been the recent craze among us in the tickling community here. Since I can't draw people yet, the idea for a written story came to mind, and Lance's contest provided the catalyst.

I just wanted to thank all who were part of this experience, and all who participated in his contest. You're all a representation of the tight network of creative ideas and expressions that the tickle community is blessed to have, and you've inspired many like me in more ways than you can imagine. =)

Third...err, this was my first attempt at submitting prose to dA, and I had a bit of...trouble with uploading it at first. >.> As a result, I'm not sure if I did it correctly. ^^; Had to manually re-format everthing again in the text file after the thing was uploaded, so I may have missed a few things. If you see something out of place, please let me know! :thanks:

Right, Dalekfire talks too much, so shutting my yap now... :XD:

I hope you like it, Lance! Tried to incorporate a lot of the elements you highlighted in your bios and...ack, yeah, shutting up, shutting up!! >__<;;

Enjoy!

EDIT: Also, thanks to my fiancee ~jdStarlight, my very own treasure, for helping me with brainstorming this. ^_^
